Whanganui River Canoe 5 Day

We had a wonderful 4-day trip with Phil and Sam. We were a family of four (incl a 12yo and 15yo) and can not commend them enough for their organisation, energy and support. It was loads of fun, food was top notch and the gear great quality. They were both very experienced guides whom dealt with the any dramas on the water (there's always a capsize or two) professionally and thoughtfully, whilst introducing us to heaps of fun games and activities along the way (go the cream catching). It was one of those adventures that takes you into such quiet, picturesque, beautiful country that you keep reliving it afterwards. We would highly recommend them. Thanks for such a memorable time!

What a fantastic outdoor adventure!!!! Loved every minute of our paddle down the river in the beautiful national park. It was so well organised, the equipment, the delicious food and the plan for the day. Our guide Elliot was knowledgeable, friendly, chatty , kind and extremely helpful. He helped us to navigate down the rapids and we had no spills!! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!! Thank you so much for a truly memorable experience that will last a life time!!!

Fantastic guides, excellent food, beautiful views, comfy tents. Good company. You will need a basic level of fitness for hauling the kit up and down the hills to the campsites and don't be afraid of getting wet.

My 18 yr old son and I had a fantastic time on our trip, 5 days canoeing the Whanganui River. We had a great guide, Canon, who cooked the most amazing meals and was very helpful and safety conscious as the river was running high. Very clear and direct instruction when facing tricky sections of the river. All of the gear provided was of great quality and did I mention the food, we ate like Kings!!!! Top Marks!!

A wonderful five day trip down the river in perfect weather. Beautiful scenery, peace and tranquility. It was efficiently organised and there was a variety of good tasty meals with ample good wine as well! Chloe was an excellent guide, always patient, friendly and enthusiastic. She expertly guided us through rapids and around eddies, explaining about the history of the river and points of interest. 

Our guide Sheri was one of the best. Everything was about pleasing the clients. We were treated so well! I will definitely recommend Hiking New Zealand to others that travel to New Zealand.
