As a specialist, we talk to you and help you to make the best trip choices from a vast array of choices. We also assist you with your preparations, and of course, our trips are great too!

 

Transfers

If New Zealand Government-imposed travel restrictions happen immediately prior to your departure date and you can’t get to the start of your tour, we will transfer you to another suitable date (subject to availability and any seasonal rate increases).

We highly recommend that you hold travel insurance. Even with our more flexible booking conditions, Hiking New Zealand Ltd is not liable for any cost or loss, directly or indirectly, from any personal disruption due to COVID-19. Such costs or losses include but are not limited to: requirements to follow COVID-19 mandates, flights, accommodation, transfers, and other expenses incurred over and above the tour price. Once your tour has commenced there is no refund available for any portion due to any circumstances. Any decision regarding exceptions to this policy is at the discretion of Hiking New Zealand Ltd or the Operator of the trip if it is not Hiking New Zealand Ltd.

The standard terms and conditions still apply if you are unable to travel for other reasons.

Refunds

If you can’t make the trip, due to Government-imposed travel restrictions in your country or ours and postponing is not feasible, but you wish to receive a refund, we will do our utmost to work with our industry partners to refund as much of your ticket price as possible. This could be up to a 100% refund.

Please note:

  • COVID-19 travel terms and conditions differ across accommodation and activity partners we work with, so please ask us directly what terms apply to your trip.
  • Travel insurance differs greatly, and 'COVID cover' can mean very different things to different insurance companies. Cover may or may not include pre or post-departure cancellation, the requirement to self-isolate, or if a companion test positive. Travel insurance is complex which means that even if a policy scores highly it may not meet your particular needs. Please choose wisely.

 

Covid Clean Approved

Tour operating procedures have been carefully fine-tuned with your health, well-being, and safety in mind. With almost 30 years of experience operating tours, and in accordance with the standards set by the WHO (World Health Organization) and WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council), we have obtained COVID Clean accreditation from Qualmark (Tourism New Zealand's official quality assurance organisation). 

All tours will also be following the guidelines of Support Adventure that are appropriate for the current Alert Level.
