Most likely the best thing to book in NZ

When I booked this trip, I expected to have a guided experience of some great places in NZ and a fun time with a nice group.
While this was true, this trip exceeded all the expectations I had. We had an amazing diverse group and our guide Malcolm was absolutely amazing. You could always feel his passion and knowledge of the outdoors.

This is not a trip where you get served everything on a silver plate. You will need to work with everybody, cook, clean, maybe set up a tent. But you'll have an amazing time doing it while bonding with the people you're with. Hiking NZ will provide the expertise and itinary for you to see some of New Zealand's most beautiful places. Accomodations are a mix of Camping, Huts and Hostels. Hiking NZ is possible offering an experience here that you won't find anywhere else. There is no question that I'd do it again.

The only negative thing is that you might become friends and saying goodbye will be hard ;).

Stunning NZ

53yo father & 20yo daughter had a fantastic time on this trip. Our tour guide, Malcom, was great at preparing us for what lay ahead, had a great knowledge of all things NZ as well as a great ability to interact, converse and encourage all members of our diverse group. His energy levels throughout were top notch. From bathing in thermal pools, to tramping through stunning rainforest to an alpine crossing the highlights were quite stunning.
I wouldn't describe the hiking as easy - but nothing technical, meaning that as long as you had a reasonable level of fitness you would make it to the end.
We had a great group of people. Everyone chipped in for the carrying and preparation of meals and snacks. Accommodation was basic but a good mixture of trail camping, huts and hostel which provided a perfect break between the walks.
I would highly encourage anyone who wants to have the security of a first class tour guide to see these amazing sights to join Hiking NZ on one of their tours.

Great way to see Aotearoa/New Zealand

New Zealand is a beautiful country with many spectacular sights and wonderful people; you'll really need to spend time on both of the big islands to get a feel for what the country offers. This 24-day trip with Hiking New Zealand is a fantastic way to experience it. We had 5 great Kiwi guides along the way. They led hikes, picked the amazing itinerary (not only hiking, but also kayaking and biking), cooked meals, drove the van, and engaged us in a lot of great conversations about the native flora and fauna. This was a trip of a lifetime and I wanted to thank Hiking New Zealand for their expertise and friendship.

Best NZ hiking and touring adventure ever!

Fantastic adventure. The guides were amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of New Zealand, geology, geography, hiking tips, history, food, plants, animals, and more. And the friendliest most engaging people to boot. And every detail of the trip from every lodging to a comfortable van to every meal was beautifully planned and timed ideally. And perfect itinerary for introduction to hiking the top spots in the South Island. Can’t wait for more.
