Top 5 Views from Last Summer

The office coffee table chat is at fever pitch as we share the adventures we have planned for summer. A couple of us compared our photos from last summer and have assembled some of our personal favourites in this blog post.

Hump Ridge Track

This 3-day loop offers marvelous views from sub-alpine tops to a rugged coastline. The Hump Ridge Track is now undergoing upgrading work and and a transformation from the current two-night to a three-night experience before officially becoming New Zealand’s 11th Great Walk in late 2022. The track is fully operational this summer and certainly worth the trip to the deep south.

Anne and Michelle headed to southern Fiordland at the end of summer to hike the Hump Ridge Track.

Abel Tasman Coastal Track

The golden beaches and turquoise waters of the Abel Tasman National Park are pristine. The warm climate and picturesque forest makes this coastal national park popular for both hikers and kayakers. You can enjoy a guided lodge to lodge walk over 3 or 5 days, or camp in the park as part of our longer Ultimate South trip.

Magan joined our Ultimate South and camped at Torrent Bay.

Gillespie Pass

The sheer mountain wilderness of Mt Aspiring National Park offers diverse and adventurous hiking. The route follows a wild tumbling river, from temperate rainforest up to alpine meadows with a stunning backdrop of snowcapped mountains and glaciers. You can join a 4-day Alpine Hike staying in a mix of backcountry huts and wilderness campsites or we can incorporate this hike into a tailor-made tour.

Eva joined one of our custom groups as part of a 7-day tailor-made itinerary.

Mt Arthur

Mt Arthur is in located in the picturesque Kahurangi National Park in the top of the South Island. You can join the Southern Slice and enjoy a day hike from Flora Saddle to the bush-line and the Mt Arthur hut. Those feeling keen can venture further with the guide along the rugged marble ridge-line towards the summit of Mt Arthur.

Eva joined our Southern Slice, which is the South Island section of our New Zealand Uncut.

Tongariro Crossing

The world-renowned Tongariro National Park is a World Heritage Site with ancient forests and other-worldly landscapes of steaming craters, old lava flows and thermal lakes. To hike the famed Tongariro Alpine Crossing you can join the 3.5-day Tongariro Hike which is a series of day hikes in this region or the Northern Portion which includes this ‘best one-day hike’ in New Zealand as part of a longer North Island hiking tour.

Anne joined our Northern Portion, which is the North Island section of our New Zealand Uncut.
