We were completely amazed and blown away by how many inspiring and evocative photos were entered into our Hiking New Zealand photo competition. Thank you to everyone that entered, for those of us in the office it is great being reminded how awesome our trips are and what cool people travel with us.

It was a hard job selecting the four monthly winners ($100 amazon voucher). For the overall winner ($1000 towards another trip) we brought in the big guns - professional photographers Rob Brown and Jeannine Tuffin.

Congratulations to all the winners.

Overall winner of $1000 towards a Active Earth Adventures or Hiking New Zealand trip

In the land of one thousand greens, bright blue skies, clearwater, Lord of the Rings mountains and mist, it was expected to see just glorious Technicolor images.
But the winning image inferred the adventure and camaraderie of the outdoors and the adventures to be had. This is a scene many of us would have overlooked. It's nicely composed, technically spot on, and candid.

Thanks Rob and Jeanine, the two professionals we chose to select the overall winner.
