I've wanted to visit New Zealand for a long time. This was my first trip. The trip was beautiful in every way. It showcased some of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand. And it did this in a way that really took us into the country and let us experience it. Both guides -- Mo and Andy -- were wonderful. They planned our days carefully and had alternatives when we needed them. They added much knowledge and some good humor too! And they were patient and kind when we needed patience and kindness. In every respect the trip was memorable. I will certainly recommend Hiking New Zealand to my friends. Please keep on doing what you are doing!

The joy of travelling in small groups gives you a chance to see things without being in big crowds. You also get to travel with like-minded individuals.

Not having to worry about anything. Seeing all of the best things, you get taken away from all the popular vacation spots and avoid all the tourists. You don't have to worry about where to or where to eat - it's all done for you.

Hiking New Zealand did a fantastic job with this 13 day tour of both islands. The guides: Justin, Martin, Eva and Andre were excellent as was the accommodations and meals: especially the homemade salads at lunch.
There was a nice balance of rigorous hiking, rests and driving. This was a "tasting menu" of the diversity of NZ: I'll be back!

We completed the 13 day uncut tour of both N.Z.'s north and south islands this past April and had the most amazing experiences which helped us fall in love with beautiful N.Z.
This tour provided an up close and personal encounter with the diverse landscape of both islands through day hikes and drives, as well as a few novel experiences like the Waitomo glowworm caves and Mitai Maori centre.
Their website description was pretty accurate and Magan, in the office was so helpful and prompt in answering questions and allaying any concerns. Our north island guides, Justin and Martin, and south island guides, Andre and Eva, were exceptional, full of knowledge, humour and warmth. I was touched by Justin lending me his sunhat for the alpine crossing, which meant that he went without. The guides were organized and always positive.
Our accommodations were just what we needed at the end of a physical day and the food was always excellent, plenty and accommodating of dietary needs.
It's helpful to review their website to get all the info and be relatively fit for the hikes. Also, bring the clothing items suggested in preparation for alpine crossings and inclement weather.
I would highly recommend this tour company and would certainly tour again with them!!

We did the New Zealand Uncut 13 day hike of the north and south islands in February. We were tentative about doing a group tour, but we experienced a great adventure with like minded people. We were escorted by some very talented people. Not only were they excellent guides, but also naturalists, and entertainers (Justin).
The food and accommodation were everything we needed and the snacks outstanding (thank you Eva). The variation in terrain was well planned and provided ample opportunities to hike at different levels. New Zealand's natural beauty combined volcanoes, beautiful coastal hikes and rugged mountains topped by glacial waterfalls.
A once in a lifetime trip - that should be done more than once !!! We would not go with anyone else but Hiking New Zealand

We just got back from a fantastic trip to New Zealand and we have Hiking New Zealand to thank for the best vacation we could have ever hoped for! We researched quite a few tour options before we booked with them, and with so much to see in New Zealand, their 13 day New Zealand Uncut Hiking Tour ticked all the boxes for us. We got to see both islands, 6 national parks (but I may have lost count!) and the best and most beautiful places that New Zealand has to offer. Our guides were not only great at what they do and what they know, but we now have friends in New Zealand that we would love to see again. We had so much fun with them and the rest of our group, we were like a little family with our "Mom"- Eva, watching over us. They were laid back and accommodating but yet they had every detail covered.
The hotels and the hikes were all first rate and we really couldn't come up with a complaint if we wanted to! This is a fabulous way to see the real New Zealand and to come home with an appreciation for the beauty of their country and the charm and spirit of their people. We are so very grateful to them for all they did for us and for the memories we have of this wonderful place. We always thought that this would be a one time trip for us, since it is so far away... but now, who knows? Thanks to Eva, Justin, John and Anne for the best trip ever!.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the NZ Uncut tour! The trip was almost two weeks, included north and south islands. We had excellent guides who went out of their way to make our journey exceptional. They seemed tireless, endlessly patient, and cheerful despite weather challenges and many responsibilities including fixing excellent meals, driving in often challenging conditions and handling all the accommodations, baggage and any last minute logistical challenges. They were genuinely interesting, fun people who were enjoyable to travel with and added to the camaraderie of the group.
We saw much of NZ's varied terrain and learned about the history, geology and culture of these amazing places. The guides, the hiking, and the group camaraderie were highlights for us, but the hotels, food and activities were excellent as well. Highly recommended!

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in NZ and took the Uncut Tour. We saw amazing scenery that we never would have seen had we not used a guide. Our guides were fun, organized and knowledgeable. We had about 10 people in our group from various countries and of various ages. Everyone got along and that added to the exceptional experience. The highlights of the trip were the breathtaking scenery and the hikes (sometimes challenging). The accommodations, food, travel and before trip communication were all top notch.

We just finished the 13 day uncut tour of North and South Islands. We had the most extraordinary experience! Our guides were absolutely wonderful, Kath and Rainier on the North Island, Martin and Eva on the South Island. We did amazing hikes, saw incredible views and had a lot of fun with the group. We had some bad weather on the North Island but Kath was always working on figuring out a good plan B. We were lucky with mostly beautiful weather on the South Island and the days with Martin and Eva were spectacular. Everything ran smoothly, and the trip really exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely do another trip with Hiking New Zealand if we are lucky enough to return!

Booking the trip was effortless and Angela in the home office answered all our questions quickly and efficiently. Our guides (Justin on the North Island, Martin on the South Island) were both extremely knowledgeable about New Zealand's flora, fauna, geology, and cultural history. They were friendly, helpful, patient, and charming with great senses of humor. Special thanks to Justin for correctly assessing the weather and switching the planned hike days to make the Tongariro Alpine Crossing both possible and excellent! New Zealand is spectacularly beautiful -- volcanoes, huge mountain ranges, forests, plains, unspoiled coastlines and majestic fiords -- they have it all (and the vast, lush forests with immense tree ferns will give you a little taste of the Jurassic!).
The 13 day "New Zealand Uncut" hiking trip gives you a great overview of what both Islands have to offer. I highly recommend this company. Cheers!

Every day was more spectacular than the next aided by beautiful sunshine every day. The trip culminated in a breathtaking hike where we ate lunch in front of a glacier with 10+ waterfalls all for our enjoyment.
