Do you have a passion for hiking in New Zealand and speak fluent German?

We are looking for someone to join our small and adaptable team that shares our passion for the outdoors and developing the best possible holiday experience for our clients. We specialise in small group guided tramping/backpacking tours into New Zealand's wilderness areas. Our tours offer a unique opportunity for the adventurous traveler to get off the beaten track and link up New Zealand's National Parks. We have been operating since 1995 and operate many scheduled trips per year.

 

Duties 



> Make travel recommendations, sales and reservations 

> Prepare client itineraries and travel documents
> Develop a sales and marketing strategy for Germany and implement the project
> Guide German speaking hikers
> Drive a mini bus with clients
> Support the operations team with preparing guides and vehicles for tours.
> This position involves working weekends with rostered days off during the week.


 

Skills & Experience 



Tertiary education with studies in tourism an advantage
Experience in the tourism industry in a sales or guiding role
Good hiking experience throughout New Zealand
A good overall natural history knowledge of NZ and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others.As well as being a safe and competent driver you need to have (or be getting) a "P" endorsement on your licence
A current first aid certificate or have one before commencement of work.
